On Wednesday 8th November we welcomed a visit from Pete the Poet who delivered an exciting story telling workshop. The stories were sourced from around the world and were accompanied by puppets, instruments and dressing-up. The workshop helped to promote learning about other countries and helped to encourage a positive attitude to cultural diversity and showed how this can be expressed in creative activities both at the Nursery and at home.

Our Poem by Pete The Poet

Finley, Eva, Ava and Frank

I would like to say a big thanks

to you all of your for such a good day

I like it here – I wish I could stay,

Lydia, Lily, Suzy and Grace

We will jump all over the place

Rosie, Reuben, Elliot and James

We have all got super names

Zara and Heidi bang your drums

Dance in the rain and sing in the sun.

Dora, Esther, Georgia and Nell

You can sing very well

Gethin, Stanley and Lily Mae

There is something I’d like to say

Let’s run around under skies of blue

Fun for me and fun for you

Casper and Poppy – jump and twirl

We are brilliant boys and girls

Antonia, Harry, Tai and Jake

Let’s all dance for goodness sake!

Leonora, Daisy, Evie and Belle

You can sway very well,

Reece and Isabelle count to three

Good for you and good for me

Matilda and Callum jump for joy

Oh such wonderful girls and boys

Darci and Elsa wiggle and shake

Ring your bells for goodness sake

Oliver and George sing your song

At our nursery we can’t go wrong

Isabella and Austin have fun together

We will all be friends forever.

We really enjoyed having Pete the Poet with us and we really look forward to his next visit.
